About
Dr. Perry Reed is a behavioral scientist who applies psychology to media and technology, translating research and data into compelling human stories. He holds degrees in cognitive science and psychology with an emphasis in media and has 15 years of experience working with entrepreneurs, startups, large public companies, and nonprofits. As a consultant, he specializes in brand marketing, client experience, media impact, product strategy, UX design, content strategy, and online education.
Dr. Reed is passionate about the persuasive power of storytelling on the human brain. His peer-reviewed research was recently published in Psychology of Popular Media, an official journal of the American Psychological Association. He also co-authored a chapter on “Creative Artificial Intelligence” for the Oxford Handbook of Media Psychology (2nd ed.), and his dissertation on the intersections of artificial intelligence, narrative engagement, and creativity received the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Society for Media Psychology and Technology.
Dr. Reed is currently associate faculty and a visiting scholar in media psychology at Fielding Graduate University. He is also the proud co-author and illustrator of the children’s book series Gilby the Gecko.
